Ball … Very early Canadian 5 pin bowling ball. From a vintage sporting collection estate from Ontario. What looks like marblization in the photos actually isn't. It is just the shades of rubber. Ball measures 16.1 " in circumference or about 5.12 " in diameter. This size is representative of the era when no official rules were present. This ball has been ground down from a 10 pin ball ; which is exactly what was done in Toronto in the early days of 5 pin bowling. When rubber balls were first vulcanized to make them harder , it was always the outer most areas of the surface which became the hardest . Since this ball was ground down , it is much softer than a traditional " as made " 10 pin or 5 pin bowling ball. Though quite hard, when you clang 2 of them together , the noise is actually a soft dull thud as opposed to a hard sharp clashing sound. If you are a bowling fanatic , this ball is for you. Still retains all original paint with no touch ups. Nice detail of the face and scarf. Body , arms and legs are angular carved. Winter season carvings in Scandinavia have been a pastime for many genberations as it gave people something to do when the temperature outside was -30 C or so for many days on end. Many carvings represented themes and historical country folklore. Scarce. Price: $40.00 USD

A rectilinear sommerso much owed to influence from Frank Lloyd Wright. The linear lines are wheel cut down the length of the vase on two sides. The narrow ends show off the sommerso work. Circa 1950. Appears to be a Blenko Glass creation or exhibition piece. No markings are stickers present. Superb condition without damage. The epitome of mid century design in glass. Wonderful in all respects. Out standing condition with no cracks or chips , base wearing as expected. Over the past 15 years on site , vaseline glass has been a consistent seller with a worldwide following. Be careful as to what you buy, there is plenty of reproduction vaseline glass from the 1920 to 1960 era. Type one slimy , hand blown vaseline glass is not known to be reproduced due to the dangers involved, it is the mold blown glass that one should be weary of. Price: $140.00 USD

The stopper is original and a pale blue colour. The design on the stopper is a 4 pointed molded star , which matches the 4 black molded points on the bottom of the jug. The top handle is clear hand applied glass. Though one might think that this is Tiffin glass, it doesn't appear so. It is black amethyst glass and of the art deco period, and much deservedly so rarer than the Tiffin wares of the same time period. Very high quality . RARE. Price: $100.00 USD

Measures 10 ' high by 3 ' wide by 1 3/4 " depth. This piece is totally unsigned so it is hard to determine whether it is a Kosta piece or an Orrefors item. What this piece has going for it is the stark sommerso and very hard to find oval type cylinderical shape. Nils Landberg lived from 1907 - 1991. All Landberg items are slowly being bought up by newbie collectors entering into the foray of mid-Century modernism. In another decade these collectors will be chasing the Art Deco market which is slowing entering the century old age bracket. Price: $365.00 USD
