Circa 1900 - 1910. Silver plated copper candy dish with light art nouveau decoration. The interior emblem reads " National Exhibition, Toronto " . This was before the Exhibition was called the Canadian National Exhibition or the CNE. The interior emblem is enamelled metal showing the Princess gates , which still stands today. CNE archive collecting is an amazing area of study. Though I've never seen an early candy dish like this, there are lots of other neat things to find such as ruby glasses with various descriptions, Indian bead items and the ever popular CNE Medals shaped like a tombstone. Measures 3 1/2 " across by 1 " high. Excellent condition but used in the past. RARE.

A very nice and seldom encountered piece with the rare applied glass side decorations. Measures 3 1/2 ' high by 2 " diameter. Properly marked " LCT " only, which is typical on small glass wares, no number . A period original piece. Rich lustre. CONDITION NOTED , one part of the thread of side decoration glass has fallen away. This occurs now and again with any threaded decorative glass of this era. I am listing this piece anyways on site as it is still extremely beautiful and quite rare and still shows to the nines ! Without the damaged thread this piece would be $600 + class, however , the price has been reduced by about one third. consignor code ( 2450583 )

NO VISIBLE outside damage or problems. The inside rim where the top meets the box has some small , hidden superficial flea bites. These are not serious and can all be ground out if one would want to. Circa 1892 to 1905. Measures 6 " high by 7 " diameter. Superb undamaged condition. Marked " 21 011 " 3 & " PP . Rich iridized metallic greenish finish. Museum quality. The Heliosine factory was known for executing superb masterpieces of Art Nouveau and Secessionist pottery wares for many high end retailers and wholesalers. Items in this art form are quite rare and still well undiscovered by many decorative arts collectors. Production of this material ended by the start of World War 1 . Mint condition pieces are truly rare as a large majority were damaged during the war years. This bowl vase must have given inspiration to the American pottery houses such as Grueby & Teco. A masterpiece from the Art Nouveau era. Rare.

Circa 1890 to 1910. Measures 9 " by 4 " diameter at the widest point. Quality quad silver plate or better with some light brassing only. Marked on the bottom " MWFP " in boxed metal stamped lettering. A very fine form of transitional design elements mixing neo-classical, Greek, Secessionist and Art Nouveau all into one. I still can't figure out the fruit in the repoussed decoration. Lightweight , but still very solid and sturdy.

Measures approx. 8 " by 5 " . Weighs almost 5 lbs. Cast bronze or brass ? The backside looks to be bronze but the front is highly polished much like brass. By my experience , I would conclude that this item is bronze. A very sinister portrayal of the corrupt Priest or Bishop of Hereford in the somewhat truthful folklore of the tales of Robin Hood. A very rare wall plaque, well detailed. Circa 1880 - 1910. The mounting metal clip on the back is newer. The neatest thing about this piece is the fact that the bishop is missing a tooth !

Circa 1890 to 1922. Stands 3 " high by about 2 1/2 " long and the same in width. Looks to be a long necked swan. Has obscure assay marks and import markings. Looks to be from Poland, Romania or possibly Italy. My better guess is that they are fancy French or Austrian markings from a private artisan. Looks to be a head of Mercury in an octagon. Finess of silver approxiamately 0.850 to 0.900. Weight of 149.2 grams translating to a bullion measure of 4.0 + troy ounces of silver. If you know the markings please send in an email as my source references do not cover these markings. Can convert to other currency pricing as well.
