Mid century modern expert ceramicist Finn Lynggaard, 1930 - 2011. Royal College of Art Copenhagen. Painter from about 1945 - 1955, ceramicist from 1965 - 1970 and glass designer til his death. Superb stoneware vase in robin shell execution. Resembles Chinese stoneware designs from centuries earlier. Measures 4 " diameter by 3 1/4 " high. Impressed signature at bottom, circa 1965- 1966. In the past 10 years most of Lynggaard's material has been bought up on the open market , especially from 2007 - 2013. Finding pieces now are quite elusive as he didn't produce as much pottery as people initially thought. Museum worthy.

Circa 1914 , incised transitional mark, generous chrystalline and Sung Blue Chinese semi matte glaze. This shape is a Roycrofters design but obviously wasn't patented. Fulper prices have been on the soft side lately , making a great opportunity to obtain better pieces for your collection at a fraction of the lofty highs we were used to seeing for fine examples of American art pottery , the previous owner paid almost $1,000 for this piece . This is a fabulous recommendation and price point of you are starting to collect fine Art pottery from the USA.

Circa 1910's. Matte glaze. Measures 5 1/2 " high by 4 1/2 " wide by 2 1/4 " thick . No discernible markings but something might be legible within the base glaze on the bottom. Notice that there are 2 large flakes in the base as this piece probably got stuck in the kiln. The base is machined flat as with most better American pottery makers . Will fit into a set of Grueby, Newcombe or other American collection. A nice period entry level item.

Simply the best piece of majolica that I have ever handled and offered under $60.00. Measures 2 1/2 " diameter by 3 " high. Excellent condition to near mint with some minor light contact. Heavy angle pottery cuts and design adorn this example. Circa 1870 - 1885. Beautiful multi-coloured salt glazing. No makers markings but certainly looks to be George Martin era quality. Deserves to be in a majolica museum. Simply wonderful !
