Circa 1890 . Ed. Todd & Company in the late 1800's was the crème de la crème maker of fine executive writing instruments. Based in New York , most of their items were sold by Tiffany... or made for Tiffany. This pen is not monogrammed ! reads " EDWARD Todd & Co NY 10KT ". lots of 10 kt gold for that matter . The extendable barrel and cap is all gold. This pen measures 3 7/8 " closed and a beautiful 5 1/2 " when fully opened. It is both mechanical pencil and dip pen. The nib is set deeply and also looks to be 14 kt gold. This instrument is a total masterpiece and worthy of the best writing instrument collection. THE BEST TODD & Co I've handled. Offers considered.

Circa 1941 . Full working order and in excellent condition, there is even a lead in the pencil too. Barrel is also marked 1/10 14 K Y gold filled , which really isn't a whole lot of gold. If you obtained a whole bunch of these pencils I'm sure that you would eventually be able to melt out an ounce of gold. The skyline is an important stylistic series widely collected and not made for very long. I've seen some collectors hoard great amounts of these.
