The marble has 2 very small taps from moving or contact. Marked " process patented - CAN-NO Art Marble Company ", which was an affiliated company with the Famous Peterboro Canoe Company of Peterborough, Ontario Canada. This was an art division or branch of the canoe company which made some decorative arts when the canoe season was slow. These lamps are extremely rare and are seldom found. They may have only been made for one year or so. This is the only one which I have come across to date. The upper pipe section is made of brass. A nice piece of Ontario History. Price: $165.00 CDN

All original patina and uncleaned, which is how it should be. The hinged shell opens up to reveal the striker on the inside. The best match safe that I've handled for a long while. Circa 1850 -1880.
