Resembles the stovepipe Stanley cup from the late 1940's Circa early 1950's. I have seen umpteen millions of handmade aluminum Stanley cups over the years , many crude and without merit, but this promotional item by this company is worlds apart and is the best ever that I have seen. A near impossibility to fit together in this grade and in this condition. The days of the local sportscard shops on every corner in every city are long gone. A true MASTER SET and the best I have ever seen. Packed with rookies, coaches, teams, team and scoring leaders, etc, etc. And YES, the checklists are mint , unmarked and typical for the issue with centering slightly off. Over 290 cards are gem mint, the rest are SUPERB near mint. There are NO rounded corner cards, there are no dog cards , there are no surprises. The Bobby Orr card is slip machine cut, the Bernie Parent has a one sided production crease on the back and the Sittler 4 X card can use an upgrade. About 5 or 6 cards are with nice corners but can be upgraded to better centering. The average grade of every card in the set should be about 9 / 10 if you want to go by so called card grading services. The best complete set of 1975-1976 cards that I have ever seen or handled in 27 years. And yes, they are Opchee's, no Topps cards in the set. Called a reference set due to the fact that it is totally complete and in superb grade and should be a reference standard to other collectors.
