With people paying several hundreds for modern toby jars and figurines, it is very hard to understand why these 100 year old beauties are a fraction of modern priced pieces. Exhibits age crazing as typical. Also has Kiln spacer " digits " in various places. This bowl must have been fired 3 or four times by the looks of it and is truly representative of the technique. The Heliosine factory was known for executing superb masterpieces of Art Nouveau and Secessionist pottery wares for many high end retailers and wholesalers. Items in this art form are quite rare and still well undiscovered by many decorative arts collectors. Production of this material ended by the start of World War 1 . Mint condition pieces are truly rare as a large majority were damaged during the war years. This bowl vase must have given inspiration to the American pottery houses such as Grueby & Teco.
