Perfect outstanding condition. Serial numbered for the year 1912. Nice shape and superb full rich droopy glaze. Whoever made this piece forgot to put kiln spacers underneath when firing, resulting in a rougher bottom edge, which has been left alone. Marked with the Royal Doulton lion stamp, + " PATENT " , FT , 7827 B . 2 d / ? and BS. With people paying several hundreds for modern toby jars and figurines, it is very hard to understand why these 100 year old beauties are a fraction of modern priced pieces. It wouldn't take too many more collectors to discover the potential and put these pottery pieces to their rightful value. Measures a nice compact 9 1/2 inches high. Superb !

The Heliosine factory was known for executing superb masterpieces of Art Nouveau and Secessionist pottery wares for many high end retailers and wholesalers. Items in this art form are quite rare and still well undiscovered by many decorative arts collectors. Production of this material ended by the start of World War 1 . Mint condition pieces are truly rare as a large majority were damaged during the war years. This bowl vase must have given inspiration to the American pottery houses such as Grueby & Teco. A masterpiece from the Art Nouveau era. Rare.
