Made for only a short time as it was a bit pricey and had to endure lots of lesser priced competition. Bowls done in candy cane pattern are somewhat scarce and were not made in large quantity. They were usually ordered from the catalog. These pieces were not a typical window souvenir purchase. Appears to be radium glass , which was an experimental finish similar to carnival glass used in Europe in the 1920's and early 30's. i would have to consider this piece extremely rare as I have never seen anything like it before. If you know what it is please pass on more information. Could be a sample of Millersburg glass as well, as many pieces from this maker are routinely found in Canadian estates for some reason. It took me over 14 years to locate and purchase another one of these medals. Unlike other iconic Art Deco medals , such as the GM 25th anniversary medal by Norman Bill Geddes , this medal is extremely difficult to obtain. Only 500 were made in bronze and 50 made in gold plated bronze. It is believed that some 312 were sold in bronze and 26 in gold plated bronze. Gm's medal from 1933 was made in two sizes and production exceeded 1,000. This medal was designed by Lee Lawrie , which shows the Zeus at the main entrance of the building. The tower is actually the 66 storey # 30 Rockefeller center, the tallest building of the complex. This medal was sold in the lobby of the center from about late 1933 to 1934 , the gold plated medals were $1.25 and the bronze ones were $1.00 , a lot of money to pay in the depression , especially when hard construction workers earned only $2.00 a week. On the box there is also a secondary sticker that says " Ostende " , which is a Belgium Sporting goods retailer as well. The Knife is in GEM PRISTINE CONDITION and never used. I have never seen an original 501 model this old in this condition , anywhere . I have never seen an original box for a 3 1/4 ' Swiss army knife , anywhere in my lifetime, for a knife of this period. The box and knife for these combos this old are always separated , never to be united again. This combo is literally a freak of nature . I searched the web for an equivalent and found none , zero. There might be knives in mint condition out there in collections somewhere , and this one is destined for the same neighborhood. Excessively rare. Offers entertained. Price: $500.00 USD

This short lived company probably has links to the enameller , Formo Vermolini , who did enamel work all over Italy in the styles and colours of Pablo Picasso. Work is of exceptionally high quality with intense colours and designs. Due to its' limited availability prices should continue to rise to the popularity of Scandinavian Ceramics from the time time period. A wonderful piece of Italian Mid century Modern design.
