The SELENA pigeon blood series glass was an impressive reply to the Venini glass made at the same time period. If I had to choose between these 2 types of glass, I'd probably be flipping a coin for the rest of my life. These pieces aren't available all the time. I consider them museum quality and worthy of the best mid-century modern glass collections. From what I know , the exact color additives used to make this colour of glass is still unknown and was Palmqvist 's secret. It has never been produced or matched by any other glass maker that I know of. It probably has roots with Sven's friendship with Paolo Venini. ( TCAD Code # 233CXC ) Price: $129.00 USD

Piece still retains original foil sticker but it can't be read. I am unfamiliar as to whose this sticker could be , despite the number of Murano glass pieces on site here. The colours are so dynamic and work together , creating simply a small masterpiece of glass . This is a for a connoisseur of Italian glass. Rare , only one I've seen ! Circa 1960 - 1970. This piece is signed, however , it was signed before being acid treated for whatever reason and is very difficult to read in entirety, if not impossible. The acid treatment is factory so not to worry. Very few pieces were acid - treated making them uncommon and very desirable. Most museums outside of Finland are lucky enough to have even one acid treated example in their collection. It was Erkki's work in this series that inspired Fransitek Vizner to create his own acid enhanced precision art glass. Erkki's pieces are earlier and are usually found for about one tenth of the price of a Vizner creation done 30 years later. SCARCE and becoming more valuable. Price: $300.00 USD

Hand blown smokey quartz glass and diamond point cut on each face. Has an ormolu cap in absolutely outstanding condition for it's age. The glass is in excellent condition overall , but has had one hurt in the past on the bottom corner. There is a 5 mm flake on the bottom back corner which has been lightly wet sanded , but not completely. Other than this , all the edges are superb and well cared for a bottle that is going on only 170 years. I loved this bottle so much that I gave it a home here. Very much so collector quality ! ...and not expensive. If it were perfect it would be worth over $150 . Price: $42.00 USD

The bottom has remnants of a smooth edge Fratelli Toso sticker. Appears student made and a bit rushed. The bullicante execution is nice , but the color matrix is off. Probably made in the summer months when people were waiting for their Venetian souvenir. Still a groovy piece. Price: $65.00 USD

Early post war dresser set done in rich cobalt blue single sommerso . Obviously learned from Flavio Poli when he was with Seguso Vetri D'arte. This set was brought to Canada by Italian immigrants visiting family after the war. Obtained via private estate contents sale. This is a totally amazing set all things considered. Each piece is aluminum foil stickered. The geode style cobalt bowl has double stickers. The glass lid has an early Archimede sticker as well. The perfume bottle and atomizer have scalloped red foil stickers in nice condition. The perfume bottle measures 7 " high , the atomizer is about 6 1/2 " high while the bowl is 41/2 " wide by 2 1/2 " deep. The atomizer works well and the pumping mechanism is not damaged or brittle. The chromed cap is plaster attached to the bottle and does exhibit hairlines in it , the perfume bottle is undamaged for the bottom section, but the original stopper has been broken or chipped at the end. I do not know how long the dauber originally was. The lid has been with the bowl for as long as the original family members remember , however it isn't a perfect fit. It seems to be a best fit scenario of adding a lid on short notice. The lid does set well in various rotated positions. Sold as a set. This is the earliest and only single sommerso glass dresser set that I have ever seen. Shows usage but it is still intact basically after 70 or more years. Sets like this are usually found as singles, broken up or very damaged. Possibly made by Flavio Poli and sold by Seguso as well. Extremely rare. A glass museum candidate based on rarity alone. Designed by Paul Kedelv, artistic director at Flygsfors from 1949 until about 1956. Kedelv's best work imitates the work of Nils Landberg, whom he worked with in his early years at Orrefors. Only the black and clear glass made by Flygsfors shows the new thrust of modernism in glass design. The post 1956 era of Flygsfors lost design direction and doesn't have any collectible value in my opinion. This piece is quite scarce with the added V design. It is apparently a trade mark of his last initial of his name . Price: $185.00 USD

Either made by Thomas & Webb or Mt. Washington. Not too long ago antique versions of Burmese glass never ceased to make less than $150 at auction , then add taxes and buyers premiums as well. Dealer stocks demanded $250 - $295 each no matter what the item was. Times and tastes have changed a little , but the rarity of these hasn't , making them nice and now affordable acquisitions for the younger collector generation. Burmese glass is found the world over in fine glass and art museums. Made with either gold metallic salts, uranium ..or even both, these items produced nice red blush colors and even glowed under ultraviolet light. This piece is undamaged and unsigned , measuring 3 1/2 " wide by 2 " high. Superb. Price: $109.00 USD
