Original box in wonderful undamaged condition for … A two inch snooker or billiard ball. One ball only in excellent condition or near so. Has one small nick and extensive crazing as shown. Original box in wonderful undamaged condition for it's age and usage. These balls were the first real attempt to make billiard balls out of something other than ivory. Crystalate , though a synthetic compound , more resembled a type of concrete in it's early stages. The balls tended to explode and shatter on many occasions. By 1920 new synthetic materials were the norm . These first versions were not made for long and are considered scarce . Usually only found at early sporting auctions. This offering only includes one ball , the plush insert and the original embossed box. These early balls are the equivalent of early golf balls . For the billiard enthusiast. PAC CODE ( 52007717 )

Measures 4 1/4 " high by 3 1/4 " diameter. Trademarked for 1888 and bears Columbian Exposition award from 1893. Now that was a far trip for a good taste of cheese ! These Ontario heritage crocks from the past are very rare and most reside in the county cheese factory museum locally and in other parts of the Province. This pieces comes in from a ginger beer bottle collector of over 35 years who also collected items related to his home town of Ingersoll. A very rare item. Price: $165.00 CDN

Measures 8 1/2 " by 5 1/2 " by 1 1/4 " thick. In worn average condition. The front hard cover is 2 3/4 " detached at the top. The pages are all sound and in good order. Premium leather bound. Written by Rev. George Gilfillan. Published in New York by D. Appleton Company on Broadway. Goldsmith is the key feature of the group and opens with his most popular " the Deserted Village ". Goldsmith is also known for his play " She Stoops to Conquer " which is also mentioned. Oliver goldsmith is also the inventer of the Line " Goody Two Shoes ". Goldsmith was an underachiever for most of his life but did produce some good literary pieces from time to time. He was known to be a chronic gambler and drinker. He also had fine tastes for luxury items and clothes. Also known to be very jealous. I have seen early compilations like this well over $100 in many antique shops, but I believe that my price is more realistic. Price: $65.00 CDN

Skinner is known for mass producing the fluted lures and larger plain Jane musky metal lures, BUT THESE , on the other hand are truly hard to find and weren't made for very long. Perhaps the punching stamps were lost in the St. Lawrence River ? Whatever the reason The " Turkey Combo " lures are very rare and very desirable fancy lures. They are still ranked very high on many want lists. This blade measures 2 1/8 " long , has full red paint on the back AND the silver patina is all original and truly gorgeous. Most feet I see in collections have been polished and cleaned making original toned examples that much more rarer. As prices rise sellers and buyers should find a happy medium. Understand that in the 1870's and 1880's there were sudden depressions and recessions that lasted months or years which could have easily affected the small goods manufacturers.
