All VNF enamel wares are considered scarce and make excellent investment buys. This short lived company probably has links to the enameller , Formo Vermolini , who did enamel work all over Italy in the styles and colours of Pablo Picasso. Work is of exceptionally high quality with intense colours and designs. Due to its' limited availability prices should continue to rise to the popularity of Scandinavian Ceramics from the time time period. A wonderful piece of Italian Mid century Modern design. Many possibilities of artists from that era including , Aiyarani, Angataguak, Aullaq, Amarook , Amidlak, and this can go on and on. I pried this piece out of a slowly being thinned out private collection of over 45 years and held for about 2 generations from a well respected antique dealer colleague. I chose this piece because of the rarer subject matter of being a carved mink. It doesn't quite look like a sea otter. Being a mink would respectively place this carving up in the upper Hudson Bay region. National Museum or Provincial collection quality. Excellent condition with minor signs of handling. Colleagues of mine say this vessel has easy 4 figure potential in the right modernist auction, but available at this site for under that. museum worthy and the first I've ever seen in this mode of design or materials. This is the exact type of coaster used on the planes and with no doubt some were bought by the passenger or even stolen. At the Concorde concourse in London they were available in boxed sets of 4 for close to $100 a set. This one is by itself and was probably directly used on the plane. As the Concorde is now retired these items will gain popularity with aviation collectors. Hallmarked sterling center disc dates to the early 1980's , I'm too busy right now to check the hallmark date , but it's somewhere from 1982 - 1984 by my memory . Price: $42.00 USD

As the 1960's rolled , Pearson's designs got a little more creepier and space age due to his fascination with aliens and UFO's. He went as far as making alien jewelry and space age flying saucer ashtrays in his " cupric " series. He didn't make copper items for very long , perhaps from 1961 to 1963 , before returning to jewelry. This modernist flying saucer ashtray measures 5 1/2 ' diameter by 1 1/2 ' high. Fully marked " RONALD PEARSON - ATL ", which might stand for Atlanta , but he was from New York, and readily travelled abroad. RARE. Price: $169.00 USD
