This was a marketing improvement done by Meccano in the 1930's in order to create a child's enjoyment with the product and to thusly increase volume sales. This Foster set is complete with BOTH markers made of mahogany , ivory and bone. Also comes with 4 cribbage markers as well. The Foster set is circa 1880 - 1885. The box top is missing half of a longitudinal section and has 2 corner splits , while the bottom is very nice and only has one tight split. I will do some restoration to the splits when I get time. A must for the archives of card and bridge clubs. The game of Whist is essentially a full deck game of euchre and forerunner to the game of bridge. The foster marker is exceptionally rarer to the more common " Camden " set. ( SCO 530999 CODE ) Price: $150.00 USD
