The 2 largest blades are marked with a " diamond C " logo. Has blown Italian glass beads in between the blades. This lure is known in the double blade even though there aren't many of them around as well. This is the first triple that I've ever seen . These early Canadian metal lures are very rare as they were probably made just before WWI , where many machinists put their efforts into the war efforts for the next 5 years. Still shows overall somewhere in the excellent bracket. Comes with a custom made wooden arbor . These reels were all handmade factory made by the finest craftsmen available. The internal bearings are all jeweled. The seams are all chamfered and air tight. Wholesale costs of these reels in the 1930's were $75.00 with retail prices running $85 to a whopping $119 in many catalogs. To Dole out that type of money from 1934 to 1938 would have been a stretch for almost anyone back then. The reel was apparently advertised up until 1951 , whether this was just old stock or limited production could be anybodys guess. Atlapac reels are scarce and finding one for sale can be a challenge. You'll never have an opportunity to pick and choose from dozens of examples available all at the same time on online auction sites. Probably only 700 to 1000 ever made. Belongs in the Tuna Hall of Fame as one of the greatest reels ever made for saltwater fishing. This reel is Pfluegers masterpiece of engineering. Oversize clutch, awesome rim drag lever , full freespool and an amazing pickup gearing system. Still a highly underrated reel not in every reel collectors collection. Price: $875.00 USD
