Nice condition with minimal marks , appears unfished. Body Measures 2 3/4 " long. Similar to Creek Chub's but obviously different , possibly a second version or another maker altogether . These baits are known to come in very damaged condition after they are used as the noses got smashed and paint loss was common. This beauty has yet to hit water. Circa 1940 and very scarce like this.

A recent acquisition from Parry Sound, Ontario. Two very early unmarked spinners in copper, blades measure 2 1/2 " long each . One is a fixed brass soldered stem while the other is an early brass safety pin setup. Both lures have all original early red dyed feather hooks and 1860's style early beveled box swivels. The resemble unmarked Delany era Lures , but are probably much older than that. Old tackle is STILL OUT THERE ! A nice pair.

Circa 1920 or nearso. Measures 4 3/4 " long and up to 1 1/2 " thick. Unmarked , but is an exact match to a chrome plated example that i know of in a private collection. Though the Marsh minnow series was made in relatively low quantities , the obscure spoon seems to be a very rare one off and hardly produced . A wonderful example , worth even more if it was marked .

Circa 1930 - 1937 . serial number 23724 , foot number 58. 3 1/2 " diameter face size. Currently in as found condition , meaning it has original and hardened wax coated waterproof fly line still attached, which impedes the continuous spinning action we are all accustomed to. Inside is a bit stiff with hardened grease which can be cleaned out and i'll probably do that in the near future. Check mechanism in backwards direction works while the frontwards direction needs screw tightening, which I'll get around to as well. Finger handles spin and rotate well , though solid, they show age but are in no threat of deteriorating. reel foot has been filed , which perhaps over 65 % of all Allcock Aerials were to some degree because the reel foot was very , very thick to begin with. They rarely fit ANY British rod without filing or adjustments. So this reel will be cleaned up for dry grease and have the check mechanism tightened , apart from that the line will be left on for originality. A nice reel that is getting harder and harder to obtain cheaply.

A have a real passion for the Muskoka Lakes of Ontario, Canada as I spent a lot of my childhood there , on Portage lake , which is attached to Lake Joseph. Lake Joseph is a 316 ' foot maximum depth lake carved out of granite. It is a haven for large muskie and lake trout. I got the opportunity to view some relics out of an old cottage via estate sale from this prolific fishing and holiday area. Striking me the most and offered today is this 1930's more or less automated hand crank fishing system. Made obviously for lake trout of that time period , often weighing over 20 pounds , this was the beast made to reel them in. Boxed in a veneered and pressboard wood type box measuring 10 " by 10" by 9 " high and weighing about 12 - 14 pounds. It was most likely strapped on the side of the boat or in the back near the motor. It has a removable hand crank as shown which threads into the box to operate the gear system . The fishing reel is also inside the box. Comes complete with the original heavy duty down rigger leader and lead weight, which is full of age and patina . The whole box is old with true Muskoka smell and mustiness as well. The system works , but needs some tinkering with the axle screw which allows torque to be transferred to the gearing system. Though not really recommended to be fished with ; it is a museum type piece capturing the true essesence of the Muskoka Lakes. Belongs on a cottage fireplace mantel or Historical Museum. a ONE OF A KIND PIECE. RARE.
