Complete six piece rod with canvas sectional holder and brass tube with cap. Both the cap and rod handle is marked " The Anglers Co. " , to whom Wheeler made his rods. Condition of this rod is superb. Some pieces of the hideous copper tape criss - cross binding has been lost , but when you look at the rod you can't even tell ! The tip is original but not finished with the patented criss - cross taping. The grip is also patented for March 28, 1905. The ferrules are pinned nickel silver much like Ed & Jim Payne. Quality is overall fantastic. The first line guide is nickel with agate insert. The tip guide is also nickel plated agate. All the inner guides are snake guides. The handle is cork , all original with a nice pleasant aroma to go along with it. The material of the rod is full bamboo, however the first section might be wood but it is very tough to tell with all the wrapping. Wheeler's rod were initially very expensive and didn't sell well. Subsequently, ALL WHEELER Rods are outrageously rare finds and worthy of the finest and most eccentric collections. This rod is probably unique as per discussions with a few collectors and sporting auction houses. There is no price data history for this type of Wheeler rod. Each section is 18 1/4 " , making the total length of the rod 108 " or a standard 9 feet long. If you want a truly unique antique fly rod that no collector or museum probably has, then this is it. The obscure Connecticut makers' fly rods represent some of the most coveted fly fishing tackle produced in the USA. Pieces like this were made for the most elite and wealthiest individuals. In over 19 years of doing fishing tackle this is the first one that I have ever seen or handled. Seems to be made for only one year. Considering the amounts of mass produced tackle out there such as Al Foss metal baits and Heddon Stanleys, this bait should surely attract some attention because it practically doesn't exist. Marked Kemac - Made in Guelph, Canada. Ironically is doesn't say " Ontario ". On the back are 2 patents, one for the USA # 3,019,544 and Canada # 639,019. It is made of quality quad chrome and shines like sterling silver. Measures a nice 6 " inches long. Has a double weedless hook at the back. The design is unique, resembling a rocket for the space-age era. Dates to 1962. This is the ONLy Kemac lure that I know of or have ever handled. ...and get this, I live in Guelph myself and have never come across another one. I have collected lures and dealt with this type of rare material for almost 20 years. This lure was obtained through a network of fine Canadian lure collectors and has a nice pedigree. A beautiful well made lure. Most likley made for fishing in Guelph Lake or the Orangeville Reservoir, which both contain pike as this is a pike bait. Price: $175.00 CDN

Nevertheless , the name Muskoka is a proud Ontario region with a rich history for the summer vacationer and fisherman. This blade is large and measures 2 3/4 " long. The red paint on the back is practically mint as well. Musky sized number # 10 . Comes with a feather hook and very old tapered box swivel.
