Produced in the early 1960's. Superb condition with 2 production bubbles buried inside the glass. Sandwich sommerso cat. Stands about 7 1/2 ' high and quite heavy, Marked " exBor Czechoslovakia ". Designed by Pavel Hlava , master glass craftsman ( 1924 -2003 ). Extremely rare & museum quality. For the most part , North American glass collectors haven't seen enough of this glass, which was well ahead of the other studio glass movements in design and technical execution, with the exception of the Swedish makers. Vibrant colours, innovative shapes, pinpoint precision. There were at least 100 master glass art graduates in the 1960's which led to a very high level of standards and competition, bringing out the best in everybody. A fellow named Egermann initially created the exbor studio, whereby art glass was done at exbor while other utility items were made at Egermann. Eventually both affiliates were soon absorbed into one company called Chystalex in 1974. All EXBOR pieces are highly desirable and expensive. They all belong in museums. 1960's Czech glass is highly rated and continues the trend of setting new price records for modernist glass from this country.

A superb undamaged example of a vintage Murano glass fish. This is a good piece to look at when studying whether or not a fish is vintage or not. Old pieces come with a bulbuous triangular base, a strong body colour with bullicante bubbles as well as having aventurine accented fins, eyes, and lips. Complete with its' original red foil sticker. More than one Murano glass house made fish in their shops so figuring out who exactly made them is more or less guesswork. Fish such as this have been found with Seguso labels as well so this would be the best guess. Circa 1955 - 1962. Superb and museum quality !

Circa 1958 - 1959. EXTREMELY RARE. None found in the Corning Glass Museum. By Jacob Bang ( b . 1889 - 1965 ) , Produced in 1958 or 1959 when Bang was doing some auxialliary design work for dinner services and cookware. Bang worked off and on for Holmegaard in the 1930's, in 1952 and in 1958 -59. He must have in no doubt caught up with Per Lutken and did some modern glass design similar to Lutken's , except that he kept his trademark " flat top " and executed in his favorite colour blue. Each piece is mongrammed " JB " . All three pieces are DIFFERENT ....yet 2 are indeed similar but are not the exact thickness , height , etc. the taller slender one has a buffable , yet very minor scuff near the bottom. All around they are considered near mint quality or better. No cracks, chips or flea bites. The single slender vase is 5 3/4 " high while the 2 smaller thicker vases are 4 1/2 " and 4 3/4 " high respectively. Given Bang's age at that time, it is understandable that he would do smaller , less heavier pieces. From a local Guelph doctor's private collection. I will gladly sell one , two or three pieces, however breaking them up will cost more. THESE are Ultra RARE. I no of no other glass dealer who has Jacob Bang glass in the Per Lutken modernist style. This set belongs in a museum......or simply create your own ! Serious inquiries only please.
