A spectacular piece in mint condition. The platform measures 6 " wide while it stands 3 " high. The pattern name is peculiar and it may also go by something else. It is true vaseline glass as well and is radioactive glowing under UV light or black light. A rare and desirable piece. Circa 1902. Most likley made by The Model Flint Glass Company. A colleague tells me it is model # 909 by this same company.

Circa 1902 or thereabouts. Mint condition. Made by one of the great American pressed glass houses of that era. Check your references. It apperas to be by Jefferson Glassworks, model # 247. Measures 8 " across by a few inches high for the flares. I believe that this piece just goes by the term " many loops ". A real piece of antique glass and just over 100 years old. The tri-corner plates are much rarer than the rounded examples and worth more.

Two glasses that measure 3 " inches high. The bowl of the glasses are 1 3/4 " inches across. Circa 1840 - 1860. The bowls of the glasses are cranberry while the bases are clear. They are small , thick and chunky. Hand made as well. These glasses were often found in pubs. When a patron had his glass filled , one would drink the whole thing and then " SLAM " the glass on the counter asking for More ! ...thus the name slammers. Both glasses are in excellent condition, one is better than the other however. One glass has wearing of the gold gilt rim lines at the top and as well has a soda glass flaw in the base. This is from the production and is not damage and it is also not a flake, the glass is still all intact, but there is some pressure flaw there. All around a nice early surviving matching pair of ale glasses. Beer glasses in general come in all shapes and sizes from the 19th century on, some with very specific purposes. See your glass guides for more info and study information. These glasses were many a time used for RUM and can also be called " rummers ".

From the paperweight heydays of 1880 -1900. Measures 4 " diameter by a whopping 2 1/2 " thick. Superb condition with lots of base wearing , one light edge scuff. The top has been professionally polished to give the paperweight the clarity needed to view the paperweight. This piece was cherry picked from an Ontario collection which was perhaps the best known assembling ever put together in Canada. This paperweight wasn't the most expensive in this collection by far, however , it was one of the nicest ones in my opinion. It is American made but I do not know the company. Scarce.

This is at least vintage if not older. The rim is is marked " Sterling by Saben ", often confused and misread as " Laben " which is wrong. Information is somewhat sketchy about Saben ; they were located in New York in the 1950's , then moved to Miami during the 1960's and soon closed down by the early 1970's. Saben had a large affiliation with Hazel Glass Company , which was formed in 1902. Judging by the style and condition of the glass and silver, this piece must have been produced by the 1920's and into the depression era of the 1930's. It is in excellent condition or better. The molded drop rings on each side show verdigris in the crevices from bygone years and has been left alone but should easily clean out. There are a few very tiny nicks to the sterling silver rim. Measures 3 " high by about 2 1/2 ' mean diameter. Check your " Heaton " guide for possibly more information. My copy is on loan at the moment.
