The interior of the glass is also finished with some well spaced larger bubbles as well. Nice pieces of DaRos are getting harder to come by now. Cut and finished 14 panel shape. Has aging on the inside and the odd areas of light wear, moderate to heavy base wearing as would be expected for a glass vase going on 180 years old. Excellent or better condition and very , very museum worthy. Outstanding shades of blue greens and perhaps even a little bit or turquoise. Though finding this type of glass in the red-orange-yellow genre is typical , offshoot colors really put this piece in a class by itself. Measures 7 1/2 " high , almost 3 " at the base , 2 1/2 " at the top and 4 " wide at the upper middle section. One must be somewhat careful when pursuing true Lithyalin glass. It wasn't made for a long time and it was made in the later years of Egermann's life. St. Louis Christalliere of France also made some Lithyalin glass to the same standards as Egermann during the same time period and for all measures , could be considered as equally valuable. Be aware of exceptionally glossy marble or slag glass sold as Lithyalin. Lithyalin is always finished polished and exhibits rich color textures and looks somewhat " creamy " . The color striations work throughout the vessel in a general degree of uniformity . Check the Corning Glass Museum online site for more nice examples. Yes, beware of bargains. Lithyalin glass from this time period was the nicest type of glass produced in this time period and was made for wealthy clients. I bought this piece out of a Paris , France estate collection. It is yet another very odd piece of free blown Amberina glass in a very odd or one-off shape. It can easily be called an insulator shape. I am easily now guessing that Amberina glass comes in literally hundreds of different or custom shapes. I am still seeing new shapes at the rate of 4 - 5 pieces a year ; perhaps due to many old Victorian era glass collections now coming to the market to which I've never as of yet had to view in my lifetime. Anyways, even with the high degree of rarity of many of these newly discovered pieces , prices are still off their all time highs almost 25 years ago now. At these price levels , new and peculiar Amberina glass pieces might be a steal on the market and eventually end up in fine museum collections. Possibly unique. Price: $100.00 USD

Simplistic art deco design with a great look. Most likely designed by Michael Powolny , as he was responsible For the many new art deco designs at that time. Many designs are striking , colorful and well made and also scarce. Always seek out pieces with finished smooth tops as opposed to open ended sharply cut and unfinished tops. This glass still goes unnoticed in collectors circles. Original nice pieces should be worth multiples in the next decade. Be careful of cheaply made Powolny reproductions. Originals are rare as art glass quickly faded out after Hitler's annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia. Belongs in an advanced Loetz collection. Offers considered. Price: $265.00 USD

No damage. Called biomorphic glass , it resembles the snot that comes out of dinosaurs and scary aliens from parts unknown. Also resembles pulegoso glass from Murano. Quality is vibrant , colorful and solid. A while back this glass was somewhat still undiscovered but now everybody wants it , much to the same happenings with Exbor glass. Best pieces have reds and blues and resemble the insides of geodes or look like lava. Yours to discover . Pieces are gradually getting into glass museums worldwide. Price: $450.00 USD

Similar to pulegoso glass of Murano, this glass is very much the same. Now prices have come to just about equal as well. This vase is technically called biomorphic glass. The shape has been termed a type of lava glass and even a " grenade vase " . The textures and colors are just simply wonderful. Made for only a short time period from about 1966 to 1970. Somewhat scarce. Excellent condition with one very small stress crack in the top about 8 mm long. This was caused by temperature differences within the manufacture , not very detrimental. Made by Benny Motzfeldt of Norway. Price: $250.00 USD

Measures 4 " wide by 2 " high. No damage except for the INTENDED acid etching all over the bowl and done on purpose. ( no pun intended ). At least 4 shops experimented and made corroso glass including SEGUSO for sure , Venini, Barbini and Salviati. Corroso pieces were made in limited quantity and were more expensive to produce as the acid had to be strong enough to etch out the glass. It wasn't uncommon for glass workers to burn their fingers a little bit in this type of production. This ashtray or peanut bowl has vaseline amber on the outside and a red core interior. A striking example and very hard to come by in ones regular glass hunting travels. This style of Murano glass is found in most if not all Glass museums throughout the world. Price: $319.00 USD
