Discovered in Ontario , Canada this summer via estate contents sale. Pattern unknown ? Never used. One bowl and six cups in a turquoise colour. Perfect condition. Circa 1930 to 1935. Space age art deco ribbing design. The bowl is quite small for a punch set measuring 8 " in diameter by 3 " high. the cups are quite dapper and measure 4 " diameter by 1 1/4 " high. The handles of the cups are a stepped pyramid design. Tremendously art deco ! First of this type of depression glassware that I have ever seen. I haven't been able to track down the pattern by any other website help or catalogs either. The ultimate in art deco era depression glass in my books.

A gentleman's hat , complete with doofus accented ribbon and bow. Condition of this piece is practically perfect mint condition. Comes from a Canadian Estate that hasn't seen the day of light for about 80 years or more. Whether it is a match striker or just a decoration could be up to debate. This is the ONLY type of this style of hat that I have ever encountered. It is RARITY and CONDITION all packed into one. I'll mention a straw line from manufacture just for the record. Possibly made by Burlington Glass Works, Canada Glass Works, Humphreys or Sydenham. BELONGS IN A MUSEUM . If anybody has any help with this piece feel free to pass on some credible information with references. I have researched this piece for the past 6 months and have come up with nothing concrete, thus my speculation that this piece was made by a short lived Canadian glass manufacturer.

Title says it all. Measures 6 " high by 6 " wide by a very nice 11 " across. No damage. Three line acid stamp mark. Circa 1950. Inciso glass was a three step process glass that involved first making the sommerso, this one is a smoky green with hints of blue at the bottom , it was then painstakingly scarified all around the outside with very closely coordinated cutting. It was then finally ground , polished or even acid treated if necessary to get the frosted " ICE " effect . This glass made by Paolo Venini was later the inspiration for innovative ways out outside glass processing by the Swedish and Czech glass masters. Venini himself was a collector of treated Art Deco Glass . He may have discovered Vicke Lindstrand 's somewhat similar treated glass from the 1930's as well , however , this style of inciso glass is innovative doesn't copy his. Prices for Murano Inciso glass don't go up linearly with size , they go up rather exponentially. Very large pieces of inciso fetch 25 to 70 times more than smaller pieces . Most , if not all art and glass museums have something from Paolo Venini in their collections. This piece is considered quite big or large in size in collector circles. I've only seen a few that are massive or larger. If you're new to art glass and want to start out with Murano , Venini inciso glass will certainly take care of you as a 401 or RRSP savings plan. This is pretty much the rarest and still semi-affordable Murano glass made after 1950. It has the precision, colours and look that most glass collectors appreciate. And it isn't mass produced. Offers welcome. If you check the Wright Auctions Primavera sale from 2016 for Venini Inciso Glass , you'll be flabbergasted with the auction results. This one may be destined to the same house in the near future.

Measures 8 1/2 " high by 3 " square. Signature color scheme of blue to yellow to clear . Outer glass is very slimy and appears vaseline , but I haven't tested for it as of yet. Excellent condition. Made by Flavio Poli of Seguso Vetri D'art of Murano Island near Venice. Though the tradition of Murano Glass making continues to this day , collectors and museums have been focusing on the earlier glassware made by the founding 20th century glass makers. Shop shops still operate with their grandchildren still at the helm , but not many now. Modern artists continue to make a new splash with new innovative glass as well. What you collect is entirely up to you. Try to remember that rarer is always better. Offers considered.
