His … Circa 1927 for the Paris exposition in Madrid , Spain. Adolphe Rivet lived from 1855 - 1908 , but his medallic sculptural work lived on throughout the 1920' s and 1930's. His portraits are world famous and have been found on French coins, medals, medallions and pattern coinage. Out of the several hundred talented medalists of the turn of the century in France, Rivet is most certainly in the top 10. These medals are very rare and seldom encountered anywhere. production number is unknown but these are the first 2 that I have ever encountered. Measures 58mm diameter, silver plated bronze. Though Christopher Dresser never designed for Shirtcliffe, his traits are evident in this Sheffield silverplate competitor. James Dixon and Shirtcliffe were very close together and no doubt for a period of 5 years were producing pieces with many simularities. This teapot exhibits the structurally aesthetic silverplate lattice , the same types of finials and the same squashed ball feet as some of Christopher Dresser's designs with James Dixon. The colour of the handles is also the same material. The piece is in excellent condition, however it looks like it was dropped in the past once and needs to be bent a little into shape. I'll be working on this in the meantime. Overall shows wonderfully ! No cracks, breaks , etc, one small ding in the pot that can be easily addressed. The spirit burner sports a patented double clutch mechanism to control the closing cap and the wick length feeder all on the same rod. This same piece is also marked " PATENT " on the end cap. True aesthetic movement pieces such as this are truly rare and are seldom found in this close resemblance and time period of Christopher Dresser. Finding one anywhere else including other online auctions can prove to be a huge challenge. With this fact in mind these pieces should be viewed with much appreciation. Dresser teapots for the most part are all in museums and in very high end collections. They price in the $10,000 range or even more. This piece is multiples less in price and is at least as rare and almost as nice as a bonafide Dresser teapot. Worthy of an Aesthetic movement museum without the heavy price tag. Finding another one of these will prove difficult . VERY RARE. Price: $425.00 USD

Simply marked " K " on the back. A friend of mine believes it is WMF , however I do not think so because WMF has distinct markings.
